Forty-three people tested positive for Covid-19 in Uttar Pradesh on Friday, bringing the number of cases to 3,945, while four more deaths brought the number to 92, authorities said.
The districts from which the new deaths were reported were not immediately known, a senior health official said.
“So far, a total of 3,945 cases have been reported in the state from 75 districts, of which 1,773 are active (in 72 districts) while 2,080 people have been discharged from hospitals after recovery. So far, 92 deaths have been reported in the state, “said Chief Health Secretary Amit Mohan Prasad.

Of the total deaths, Agra has reported the highest number of 24 deaths in the state. They are followed by 15 from Meerut, nine from Moradabad, six from Kanpur Nagar and four from Firozabad and Mathura.
Three deaths were reported each from Aligarh and Gautam Buddh Nagar, two from Ghaziabad and Jhansi and one from Pratapgarh, Sant Kabir Nagar, Hapur, Lalitpur, Allahabad, Etah, Mainpuri, Bijnore, Kanpur Dehat, Amroha, Bareilly, Basti, Bulandshahr, Lucknow, Varanasi and Shravasti.

Prasad said 4,878 tests of Covid-19 were performed across the state Thursday. He said the state is also increasing facilities for the coronavirus sample pool test.
“Until now, a group of 5 samples were made. Now it will be increased to a group of 10 samples. According to ICMR guidelines, you can upload a group of 25 samples, “said the officer.
“We are emphasizing surveillance and more than three million people have been surveyed by 75,006 teams at UP. Those with symptoms (from Covid-19) have received required treatment, ”said Prasad.
Covid-19 patients in Uttar Pradesh comprise 74.6 percent men and 25.4 percent women, he said, adding that the Aarogya Setu app is being used effectively and alerts are being sent to people. .
“Health department teams are also calling people based on these alerts. More than 6,500 people were called and 14 of them have been evaluated and found positive, ”he said.
