Congressional Senior Leader Shashi Tharoor said on Sunday that emergency approval for the Covid-19 – Covaxin vaccine is premature and could be dangerous as it is still in phase 3 testing. He urged the Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan to wait until full trials of the vaccine are completed.

On Twitter, the Member of Parliament from Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram said: “Covaxin has not yet had phase 3 trials. The approval was premature and could be dangerous.”

In addition, he urged the Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan to avoid Covaxin until full trials are completed.
