Citizens will be able to register and book an appointment for vaccination, anytime and anywhere, using the Co-WIN 2.0 portal or through other computer applications such as Arogya Setu.
Registration will open at 9 a.m. on March 1 at www.cowin.gov.in, the ministry said.
All citizens who are of legal age, or who will reach the age of 60 years or older as of January 1, 2022, are eligible to register, in addition to all citizens who are of age or who will reach the age of 45 to 59 years as of January 1. , 2022, and has any of the 20 specified comorbidities.

The modalities of the new functionalities integrated in the Co-WIN 2.0 digital platform were explained to them.

However, on March 1, an appointment can also be booked for any future date for which vaccination places are available. A space will also be reserved for the second dose in the same COVID Vaccination Center on the 29th of the date of the first dose appointment.
If a recipient cancels a first dose appointment, then both doses will be canceled, the ministry said.
According to the ministry, there will be a registration facility on site so that eligible beneficiaries can enter identified vaccination centers, register and be inoculated.
Eligible persons will be able to register in the Co-WIN 2.0 portal through their mobile number, through a step-by-step process.
With a mobile phone number, a person can register up to four beneficiaries. However, all those registered with a mobile number will have nothing in common except the mobile number, the ministry said.
The photo identification card number for each beneficiary must be different. Citizens can use any of the following photo IDs to register online: Aadhaar card / letter, Election Photo Identity Card (EPIC), passport, driver’s license, PAN card, NPR smart card or document board with photography.

It was also explained that the central government will purchase all the vaccines and supply them at no cost to the states and UT, which in turn will disburse them to the government and private COVID Vaccination Centers (CVC), the ministry said.
It was reiterated that all vaccines provided to beneficiaries in government health facilities will be totally free, while private facilities cannot charge the recipient more than Rs 250 per person per dose (Rs 150 for vaccines and Rs 100 for as operating charges).
Private hospitals must remit the cost of the vaccine doses assigned to them in a designated account of the National Health Authority (NHA). The NHA is setting up the payment gateway for the same on its website, the ministry said.
The Government of India has provided two COVID-19 vaccines, Covishield and Covaxin, at no cost to states and UTs to vaccinate healthcare workers (TS) and frontline workers (PDAs) and may also cover the next priority group, that is, the group over 60 years and the age group 45 to 59 years suffer from pre-specified comorbidities.
States have been asked to implement linkages between CVCs (both government and private paneled facilities) with the closest cold chain points to ensure the smooth delivery of vaccines to CVCs.
The ministry specified 20 comorbidities within the age group 45 to 59 years, including heart failure with hospital admission in the past year, moderate or severe valvular heart disease, coronary artery disease, CT / MRI documented stroke, diabetes (> 10 years or with complications) and hypertension under treatment, end-stage renal disease on hemodialysis, diagnosis of any solid cancer since 2000 or currently undergoing cancer treatment for which a medical certificate must be presented.
The ministry has shared the simplified one-page certificate format that must be signed by any registered physician.
The certificate can be uploaded to Co-WIN 2.0 by the beneficiary while self-registering or the beneficiary can bring a hard copy to the CVC, the ministry said.
