Coronavirus India Lockdown Live Updates: The number of coronavirus cases continues to rise as India reported the highest single-day increase in 2021 with 72,330 new infections within a 24-hour span. With this, the national case count has increased to 1,22,21,665. Among the most affected states is Maharashtra, which has registered the highest number of new cases daily with 39,544.
Delhi recorded more than 3,500 COVID-19 cases for the first time this year, as 3,594 infections were reported on Friday. The health bulletin stated that Delhi’s positivity rate is 4.11% and 14 deaths were recorded. Meanwhile, Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal held an “urgent” meeting to prepare an action plan in the wake of the increase in COVID-19 cases in the national capital. In addition to the Minister of Health, officials from the departments concerned also participated in the meeting.
