Coronavirus Vaccine Update: Clinical trials for the Covid-19 candidate vaccine developed by the University of Oxford, which were expected to begin at PGIMER in Chandigarh, have been delayed for at least a week due to safety approvals. Late-stage studies of AstraZeneca’s Covid-19 vaccine candidate are temporarily on hold while the company investigates whether a recipient’s “potentially unexplained” illness is a side effect of the injection. The AstraZeneca-Oxford University vaccine is considered a strong competitor among the dozens that are being developed globally.
