As the national capital continues to report an increase in Covid-19 cases, Union Interior Minister Amit Shah will meet with Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal later today to discuss the current situation in Delhi. Religious sites in Maharashtra, closed since March, will open tomorrow, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray announced on Saturday. According to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) published by the state government, religious sites located outside the COVID-19 containment zones will be able to remain open according to the hours decided by the authorities, and devotees will be able to enter in a staggered manner. Maharashtra anticipates a second wave in January-February.

Meanwhile, the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the AtmaNirbhar Bharat Rozgar Yojana on Thursday to encourage the creation of new jobs. Starting October 1, the scheme will provide incentives for establishments registered with EPFO that accept a new hire or offer employment to those who lost their jobs between March 1 and September 30. The scheme is for those who earn less than 15,000 rupees a month. It will be operational until June 30, 2021.
