Yan claims that the Chinese government is now trying to tarnish her reputation through social media, carry out cyberattacks against her and intimidate her family in China.
Previously, on September 14, Chinese virologist Dr. Li-Meng Yan had claimed that COVID-19 had been manufactured in a Wuhan laboratory. Yan, who was associated with the Hong Kong School of Public Health, had been researching the coronavirus for a long time. The Chinese virologist stated that during her research she found that the coronavirus developed in a laboratory in China.
Dr. Li-Meng Yan also accused China of failing to take adequate precautions to contain the spread of the coronavirus and offered scientific evidence that COVID-19 is manufactured in the laboratory in Wuhan.
His Twitter account was later suspended by the social media giant on the grounds that the account violated “Twitter rules.”
Dr. Yan also revealed that she had to flee to the United States for her safety after being threatened by Chinese officials when she wanted to alert the world to the pandemic.
He claimed he was in Wuhan to investigate the pneumonia outbreak, but came across information about the deadly virus. The Chinese virologist is believed to have tried to alert authorities but received no response from the World Health Organization.
Yan has already published his report and put it on the internet so that everyone can access it. The report is titled “Unusual features of the SARS-CoV-2 genome suggesting sophisticated laboratory modification rather than natural evolution and delineation of its probable synthetic pathway.”
