Coronavirus Cases Rise: Night Curfew Imposed in 13 Districts of Rajasthan


Rajasthan coronavirus update: In light of the growing number of COVID-19 cases, the Ashok Gehlot-led Congressional government in Rajasthan has decided to impose a night curfew on 13 districts.

According to news agencies, the night curfew from 8:00 pm to 6:00 am will be in effect within the urban limits of the 13-district district-based cities, namely: Kota, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner , Udaipur, Ajmer, Alwar, Bhilwara, Nagore, Pali, Tonk, Sikar and Ganganagar.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, the Rajasthan Health Department conducted tests for anti-COVID vaccination in 19 centers in seven districts of the state according to the Center’s protocol for inoculation, an official quoted by the PTI news agency said.

The official said that during the drills, inoculation support personnel were trained and the state is ready for vaccination after receiving the vaccine.

Health Secretary Siddharth Mahajan said tests for universal vaccination according to the protocol received from the Center were carried out on Saturday in 19 centers in seven districts of the state. He further said that Rajasthan is now fully prepared for the first phase of vaccination.

Mahajan also said that he has received feedback from centers where drills were held and inspected three vaccination centers in Jaipur to take stock of preparedness.

According to Ajmer CMHO Dr. KK Soni, the dose of the vaccine will be administered to the frontline healthcare workers and around 20,000 healthcare workers in Ajmer will be vaccinated in the first phase. Soni said that the vaccination will be carried out in an interval of 42 days and it is necessary to show a message received on the mobile phone for the second vaccination.
