Two officers of Madhya Pradesh Police have been suspended and an inquiry ordered after a video clip showed policemen beating without mercy a man in Chhindwara. The man allegedly in a drunken state.

The man who was allegedly assaulted was taken to the district hospital for medical examination after he was dropped at his residence. His condition is well, police said.
Chhindwara is the home turf of state, president of Congress and ex-prime minister Kamal Nath and his son, and Member of Parliament Nakul Nath.
The video triggered a massive reaction on social media with many users demanding a more severe punishment for police officers.
“Impossible to see! See the brutality that these cops are beating this guy, these police officers not only be fired but jailed also. They deserve the same treatment,” said a Twitter user Abu Abdullah.
“In the past 70 years, our governments have given ourselves British police,” said another social media user.
The man that was wrecked, has been identified as Nanu, a mason and resident of Piplyanarayanwar in Chhindwara city. The 30-years of age, was allegedly beaten up for more than 10 days. One of the two police officers was seen beating a man with his lathi (cane) in his head and other parts, even after he fell unconscious and was seen not to be moved while being beaten by the police.
Another video shows police officers leave to Nanu in his residence by a police department vehicle in the night, and his old mother to support you to take inside the house.
A man who was heard to say, “Go and sleep. Come to the police since that morning when their alcohol consumption hangover is more.”
Additional Superintendent of Police, Chhindwara, Shashank Garg, said, “The video is old in the head of a police officer, Krishna Dongre and constable Ashish were seen beating a man. Sub-divisional police officer SP Singh has been sent to research it. As we have learned that the man was used to the creation of a scandal in a state of intoxication in your town and the police had been called to the control of him in the past.”
The superintendent of Police (SP), Chhindwara Vivek Agrawal, said, “The incident is unfortunate. As we came to know about him, I immediately suspended the police personnel and ordered an investigation into the incident. There will be a exemplary punishment against them, if they are found guilty in the investigation.”
When asked about the injuries caused to the man, the SP said, “there is No serious injury was found in the medical examination. However, since the incident is old may be a reason that no serious injury was found.”
