Until now, only employees of the state government, central government, public sector banks, Mumbai Port Trust, Raj Bhavan staff, aircraft maintenance personnel and those involved in the healthcare sector can travel on these trains. specials.
CR Director of Public Relations Shivaji Sutar said: “At the request of the state government, the Ministry of Railways and the Government of India granted permission to the staff of all cooperative and private banks up to 10% of the total staffing of the personnel as approved by the Maharashtra state government, for travel on special suburban services over the Mumbai suburban network. ”
10% of selected staff are requested to obtain the QR code from the Maharashtra state government as soon as possible. Until then, valid identity cards are the authority to enter the stations. Additional reservation counters will be opened at major train stations for passengers.
He said: “Except for essential category personnel as identified by the state government, others are requested not to rush to stations. Travelers are also requested to follow the medical and social protocols required by Covid-19 ”.
While WR will run 500 services starting Monday, CR only operates 355 services on its main and port lines. Only 700 people can travel on local trains.
