Affected by the alleged bogus TRP scam, television ratings gauging body BARC said on Saturday that it believes the channels are committed to maintaining a clean ecosystem and their efforts are targeting the “individuals” responsible for infiltrating homes to influence the data. The agency said it is cooperating with Mumbai police in the investigation, which has so far arrested six people for allegedly influencing ratings.
“Our efforts to combat infiltration are focused on the people responsible for these activities and we strongly believe that television channels are committed to maintaining a clean and transparent ecosystem,” BARC said in a statement.
