Congress’ Udit Raj calls Virat Kohli ‘Anushka’s dog’ in apparent defense of cookie row

Congressional spokesperson Udit Raj referred to Team India captain Virat Kohli as his wife Anushka Sharma’s ‘dog’ when he jumped into the line of firecrackers sparked by the cricketer’s Diwali video message to the people from India.

Virat Kohli received a backlash from some online sectors for urging people not to set off firecrackers on the occasion of the ‘Festival of Joy’, with some questioning the Indian captain for his collection of luxury cars which, according to them, also contribute to pollution.

Using derogatory language himself to refer to both the people and Kohli, Congress leader Udit Raj claimed that Virat Kohli had ‘taught’ the ‘looters, scoundrels and fools’ – referring to people who criticized Virat Kohli for his firecracker appeal – and asked for their DNA to be ‘checked’ to find out if they belonged to this country. However, he also repeated the same ‘dog’ reference to Kohli while apparently supporting him, with no obvious signs of sarcasm.
