Congress’ Kavitha Reddy Apologizes for ‘Moral Vigilance’ Samyuktha Hegde; the actor responds


Congressional leader and party spokesperson in Karnataka Kavitha Reddy, who allegedly attacked actor Samyuktha Hegde on September 4 in a lake garden in Bengaluru, offered an unconditional apology on Sunday. “I have always opposed moral vigilance. Hegde had alleged on Saturday that Reddy tried to attack and abuse her and her friends for hula-hooping in a sportswear park on the city’s Lake Agara. She also accused a group of people instigated by the woman of threatening to label her as a drug user, amid the ongoing investigation into alleged drug ties with people from the Kannada film industry.

Following the incident, Samyuktha Hegde filed a complaint against Kavitha Reddy. An FIR was registered against her on Saturday at the HSR Layout police station. Kavitha Reddy received intense reviews online, and celebrities like Benafsha Soonawalla and Kaniha also joined in. They lent their support to Samyuktha, calling her ‘shameful’, ‘outrageous’ and more.
