Earlier this week, WhatsApp began rolling out in-app notifications for Android and iOS users, revealing an update to its Terms of Service and privacy policy. The notification informed users of an update to the way the platform handles user data, how businesses can use Facebook-hosted services to store and manage, and the business is partnering with Facebook to offer integrations across the Facebook company product. In addition, it alerted users that they must accept the new terms and policy before February 8, 2021 to continue using the application.
Since the update, there has been a lot of conversation on the internet about WhatsApp share user information with Facebook. Many users in Twitter have been persuading each other to come down WhatsApp and switch to other encrypted messengers like Signal and Telegram.
