The haven of Computer Baba, the self-styled god-god, an “invasion”, was demolished in Indore of Madhya Pradesh.

A religious retreat, or ashram, of the self-styled man god “Computer Baba,” which Congress endorsed in Madhya Pradesh through votes held last week, has been demolished due to the invasion, authorities said.
Six people were also arrested, including the man-god.
The demolition comes days after voting ended in the Madhya Pradesh elections, in which Namdeo Das Tyagi, popularly known as Computer Baba, had campaigned for Congress.
Officials claimed that the Tyagi ashram invaded nearly 46 acres of land, which is valued at around Rs 80 million.
A team from the Indore Municipal Corporation and the district administration reportedly cleared this land two months after the notices were issued to Mr. Tyagi.
This land would now be used to develop a shelter for cows and local authorities would also create an action plan to develop this land as a religious center, authorities said.
According to Additional District Magistrate Ajay Deo Sharma, this land in Indore Jamorhi village
was demarcated for a cow shelter in 2016. “Over the years, as you can see, this land was invaded by the so-called god man, who developed it as a complete air-conditioned shelter,” he said, adding that the action was taken by order of the collector.
“Some people complained about the encroachment. We issued notices but he did not remove the encroachment, so we have come here today with a police team and machinery to remove these structures,” Sharma added.
Last year, when the state government led by Congress was in power, the man-god had summoned two BJP lawmakers to vote in favor of a bill that was part of the pre-election promise of the then ruling party.
“Four legislators (of the BJP) are in contact with me … When Chief Minister Kamal Nath tells me, I will introduce them before everyone else,” he had said.
