Online reservations for reservations were scheduled to start today starting at 4pm through the website or the IRCTC app. However, due to heavy traffic on the site, the website has been down since then.
Indian Railways, therefore, postponed reservation times for the 15 special trains by two hours. “The reservation of 15 special trains with a delay of two hours will now start at 6 p.m.,” said the railroad.
Also, only online E-Ticketing can be done through the IRCTC website or through its mobile application. Tickets will not be reserved at the reservation desk at any station. Booking of tickets through “agents” (both IRCTC agents and rail agents) will not be allowed. The Maximum Early Booking Period (ARP) will be no more than seven (7) days, the ministry said in a statement.
Only confirmed electronic tickets will be reserved. RAC ticket / wait list booking and onboard booking by ticket verification staff will not be allowed, the ministry added.
