Complete ban on firecrackers from midnight to November 30 in Delhi, NCR


The National Green Court (NGT) has imposed a total ban on the sale or use of all types of firecrackers in Delhi and adjacent areas from midnight on November 9 to midnight on November 30. This has been done in view of the increase in air pollution.

NGT’s crackers ban applies to all cities / towns in the country where air quality during November is classified in the category “bad” and above.

The NGT also directed all states and Union Territories to launch special campaigns to contain air pollution from all sources in light of the potential for COVID-19 aggravation.

A bank headed by the president of NGT, Judge Adarsh ​​Kumar Goel, clarified that the direction will apply to all cities and towns in the country where the average ambient air quality during November (based on data available from last year ) fell below the ‘poor’ and above. categories.

The Mumbai municipal corporation has also banned the use of firecrackers and fireworks in public and private places before Diwali.

Meanwhile, Delhi’s air quality remained “severe” for the fifth day in a row on Monday, and calm wind speeds exacerbated the effect of burning stubble.
