Defense Minister Rajnath Singh spoke at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) ministerial meeting in Moscow on Friday.
“India values the works of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorism Structure,” he said, adding that the adoption of the SCO’s anti-terrorism mechanism to counter extremist propaganda and de-radicalization was an important decision.
“We need institutional capacity to deal with traditional and non-traditional threats. Above all, we must tackle terrorism, drug trafficking and transnational crime. As everyone knows, India unequivocally condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, and condemns its defenders, ”said the defense minister.

At the SCO meeting, he reaffirmed that India was committed to the evolution of a transparent and inclusive global security architecture that was anchored in international law.
Rajnath Singh also expressed concern about the situation in the Persian Gulf. “India is deeply concerned about the situation in the Persian Gulf. We call on the countries of the Gulf region to resolve their differences through dialogue based on mutual respect and sovereignty ”. The security situation in Afghanistan also remains a concern, he added.
