NOIDA: The Gautam Buddha Nagar police on Wednesday extended till May 31, the restrictions on assembly of people in the CrPC section 144 in view of the national lockdown to fight against the coronavirus of the pandemic.
Political, social, sporting or religious congregations, in the demonstrations or marches are prohibited in all Noida and Greater Noida during the period of the crash, police said.
Additional deputy commissioner of police, Law and Order, Ashutosh Dwivedi issued the order stating, Restrictions under CrPC section 144 will remain in force in Gautam Buddha Nagar, up until the 31st of May.”
Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) bars assembly of four or more people.
“Prior consent is required for any wedding function, and no more than 20 people may attend the same. In the same way, no more than 20 people will be permitted during a funeral. In both cases, people have to comply with social distancing standards,” the order stated.
Strict action taken against anyone who violates the restriction orders under the Indian Penal Code section 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant), the established order.
Gautam Buddha Nagar, next to Delhi, in western Uttar Pradesh has so far recorded a total of 293 positive cases of the new coronavirus, including five deaths, while the 207 patients that are discharged after treatment, according to official figures.
