Closing until December 31: Rajasthan imposes total closure on COVID-19 hotspots – Read details | India News


Amid the increase in COVID-19 coronavirus cases in Rajasthan, the government led by Prime Minister Ashok Gehlot in the state on Sunday (Nov 29) decided to extend the lockdown on containment zones until Dec 31, 2020 .

“The closure will remain in effect in the containment areas until December 31, 2020. Only essential activities will be allowed in the containment areas and there will be intensive house-to-house surveillance by surveillance teams trained for this purpose,” the state government said in a statement.

The Rajasthan government also said that schools, universities, cinemas, entertainment parks, etc. They will remain closed in the state until December 31. The government also banned social, political, sports, cultural and religious functions and large congregations until December 31 to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

The state government also decided to impose a night curfew within the urban limits of eight district headquarters from December 1 to December 31. The night curfew will remain in effect in Kota, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Udaipur, Ajmer, Bhilwara, Nagore, Pali, Tonk, Sikar & Ganganagar from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

It should be remembered that last week, the Rajasthan government had decided to impose Section 144 across the state to curb the number of Covid-19 cases. The government had also increased the penalty for not wearing masks to Rs 500 from Rs 200.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan reported 18 deaths from coronavirus and 2,518 new cases on Sunday, bringing the total number of deaths and positive cases to 2,292 and 2.65,386, according to a health bulletin.
