Kohli, who made his debut for India in 2008, had to wait up to a year to reach his first of 70 international centuries, and during his journey with the Indian cricket team, he was part of some of the most historic moments. However, for Kohli, the three moments that remain the closest to his heart are on the expected line.

“First of all, it is a great honor for me to receive this award,” Kohli said shortly after receiving the two prestigious awards. “The moments that I hold closest to my heart in the last decade definitely have to be the World Cup win in 2011, the Champions Trophy win in 2013, and the series win in Australia in 2018. These are the three moments that I hold dear in my heart. ”

Kohli came into his elements in 2014 when he was named Player of the Tournament at the 2014 T20 World Cup in which India reached the final. From there, Kohli burned the charts to soon become one of the best hitters in the world. His feats in 2016 will be hard to match even for Kohli himself.

Kohli’s rich streak of form saw India reach the semi-final of the world T20 in the year and brought India to the top of the ICC testing rankings. He led from the front, hitting four centuries as India secured three consecutive victories in the test series. It averages over 75 in all three formats.

“I think there have been many, many special games for the India team in the last decade and also for me personally. I would not like to mention so much the personal shots because then I will have to qualify them and I do not like to do it because for me all the games that are played for India are crucial, “added Kohli.

After being named captain in all formats in early 2017, with Kohli, India reached the final of the Champions Trophy that year and finished a semi-finalist at the 2019 World Cup in England.
