Class 10, 12 students in West Bengal Won


New Delhi: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee stated on Wednesday that there will be no exams in this academic session for students in classes 10 and 12. “Due to the current situation of the COVID pandemic, the state Department of Education has decided that students currently studying in classes 10 and 12 will not have their exams (2021),” said CM Banerjee at a press conference today . The West Bengal government had said that the decision to reopen schools in the state will be made only after Kali Puja on November 15 “depending on the COVID-19 situation at that time.”

Although the Union Ministry of Education allowed the gradual reopening of educational institutions across the country, the Mamata government in West Bengal was not yet sure whether to resume physical classes in state schools due to the COVID-19 situation in the state.

On Tuesday, West Bengal reported the highest single-day recovery of 4,415 COVID-19 patients, bringing the total number of people cured to 3,72,265, the health department said.

The death toll rose to 7,403 after 53 more people succumbed to the disease.

At least 3,891 people tested positive for COVID-19 in 24 hours, bringing the state’s bill to 4,13,112. Meanwhile, active cases stood at 33,444.
