In a heavy attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bihar’s Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi said on Wednesday that they are both keeping silent on the issue of employment and unemployment and are instead attacking. to his family and that of his ally, Tejashwi Yadav. He said Modi doesn’t even have the label to talk about Bihar’s problems when campaigning in the state.
Rahul’s attack came hours later Modi referred to Tejashwi, the main ministerial face of the opposition alliance, asyuvraj from jungle raj‘. Kumar had also been attacking Lalu Prasad’s family, the most recent being his mockery of “eight and nine children”.
“The Prime Minister will not talk about employment. Nitishji and the Prime Minister will give speeches. Nitishji will speak about the Tejashwi family. He will say wrong things. Narendra Modiji will speak about my family. But the question that is there before Bihar … of jobs, of the lives of farmers, of small traders … they will not say a word, ”Rahul said at a campaign event in Darbhanga.
“This choice is not about Laluji’s family, my family, or Nitishji’s family. This election is about the future of Bihar. And you don’t have the label (tameez) of being in front of the people of Bihar and you won’t talk about what the people of Bihar want to hear … about their future, jobs, factories, sugar mills … magar ulti seedhi baat aap bologe,” he said.
Gandhi said that the people of Bihar gave Nitish Kumar 15 years and Modi six years. “What did you get? Bihar is one of the poorest states. Young people in Bihar cannot find work in Bihar. It is another matter I leave Bihar aside, young people cannot find work anywhere in India now. No in Mumbai, Bengaluru or Delhi because Narendra Modi has finished all jobs in the country.
“Bihar farmers cannot get adequate prices. Bihar’s small merchants, medium-sized entrepreneurs … cannot dream of a good future. Bihar principal sapna dekha mana hain…that’s the truth. If you want a job, go to Mumbai or somewhere else, ”he said.
In his speeches in Darbhanga and Valmiki Nagar, Rahul spoke about the agitation of farmers in Punjab over the three agricultural laws. He said that for the first time he has seen the effigies of the Prime Minister burned in Dussehra.
“For the first time I saw that in Dussehra, the effigies of Ravan, Meghnad and Kumbhakarna were not burned. For the first time, the effigies of Narendra Modi were burned in Dussehra. The people of Punjab are smart. In the effigies, they put Ambani’s face on one side and Adani on the other side and in the middle was Modi’s face… To be honest, I didn’t like it. After all, Modi is the prime minister of the country. But the truth is that whether they are small merchants, young people, farmers or workers… they are all angry. At the national level, they are angry with Modi and in Bihar they are angry with Nitishji, ”he said.
He said that in 2006, the Bihar government eliminated the mandi and MSP system in the state. “And since then, Bihar farmers have never been able to get adequate and appropriate prices for their products … And Modi is doing the same in Punjab and other states. That is why the effigy of the Prime Minister was burned in Dussehra and not that of Ravan. “
Rahul also attacked Modi over demonetization and his government’s decision to announce an unannounced shutdown, putting billions of Bihar workers in trouble. “Bihar workers are in every corner of the country. They were not given any advance notice … he (Modi) appeared on TV at 8 PM and announced the closure … if you have food or water … we have to fight this battle for 21 days … with whom I was fighting … I was fighting the Bihar workers and not crown, ”he said.
Rahul said that small and medium-sized businesses were destroyed due to the shutdown and India’s neighbors have advanced in GDP figures. “Now you have a decision to make … this choice is about the future of Bihar. On one side is the alliance – Tejashjwi and I are there – and on the other side is the past, Nitishji and Modiji … you have seen what they have done in Bihar and in India … they could not fulfill any of the promises. .. ,” he said.
