Patna:

A day before voting begins for the Bihar elections, a video of Chirag Paswan preparing to record a speech alongside the photo of his father Ram Vilas Paswan appeared online and was shared on social media.

The video was taken when Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) leader was filming a message about his party’s manifesto for the polls.

Chirag Paswan is dressed entirely in mourning white that he wore in the days following his father’s death on October 8.

With the garland portrait of Ram Vilas Paswan at his side, he can be heard chatting with his team prior to filming.

Azadi ke 75 years ke baad bhi Bihar ko kaha jaata hai ke abhi bhi pichhda pradesh hai… (Pause) And I lost the plot… let’s start again, ”says the LJP leader when the clip ends.

When the video went viral, Chirag Paswan blamed Bihar’s Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for the leak: “I don’t understand the purpose of this video. Do I have to show that I was saddened by my father’s death? Kumar has hunched over it shows that he is concerned, ”he told ANI.

In reaction to the video, many mocked the 37-year-old actor-turned-MP for his “acting.” Some attacked him for “making jokes” while he was in mourning.

“The JDU leaders, fearing defeat, have lowered themselves to a new level. The video was filmed to launch the party manifesto. A video is made every day, so what’s wrong with it? Nitish Kumar will also receive the people’s response … Nitish Kumar’s departure is safe, “Chirag Paswan’s party tweeted.

Chirag Paswan, a member of the Nitish Kumar-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), is contesting the polls separately, saying that while he remains loyal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP, his mission is to see the Prime Minister leave.

Bihar will vote in three rounds until November 7. Results will be announced on November 10.
