Chirag Falor to stop studying at IIT and head to MIT


A Pune boy, who headed the Joint Entrance Exam-Advanced, the results of which were announced on October 5, said he would continue his studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States.

According to a news report, Falor will stop studying at any IIT in India as he has already gained admission to MIT.

Chirag Falor topped today’s prestigious exam after earning an All India Rank (AIR) of 12 on JEE-Main. The boy from Pune had gained admission to MIT in March but was conducting studies online from here due to the novel coronavirus pandemic and the subsequent lockdown.

“I have already attended online classes at MIT and will continue,” Falor told the news agency. PTI after the JEE-Advanced results were declared.

About 1.6 lakh of students had signed up for the JEE exam, which was held on September 27, and around 1.5 lakh turned up, with more than 43,000 candidates, including 6,707 girls, passing it.

Falor scored 352 out of 396 points.

He said that securing a seat at the IITs was the hardest and that he had been preparing for four years as it is only an exam but with a vast program of study, while MIT assesses the candidate for personality and potential and verifies how much you can take advantage of. opportunities.

“I used to attend MIT classes online at night and then prepare for IIT exams during the day,” he said.

Falor, who studied at Pragati Public School in Delhi and St Arnold Central School here until Class X, said he planned to return to the United States in January next year.

Falor had obtained the Bal Shakti Puraskar for 2020 and was praised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the time.
