Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said on Tuesday that the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) confirmed that five civilians who disappeared from Arunachal Pradesh last week were found on their side. Work is under way on the process of handing over the youth to India, added the minister.
China’s PLA has responded to the hotline message sent by the Indian military. They have confirmed that the missing youth from Arunachal Pradesh have been found by their side. New modalities are being developed to hand over people to our authority.

“Other modalities are being worked out to hand over people to our authority,” Rijiju tweeted.
The five civilians, who had disappeared on Friday from the Upper Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh, were working as porters and guides for the Indian army.
They were part of a group of seven members who went hunting in the jungle, but their families reported their disappearance through social media.
