China Tries To Impose Conditions On Indian Media, Objects WION Interview With Taiwanese Foreign Minister Joseph Wu | World News

NEW DELHI: The Chinese Embassy in India has made a strong protest against WION’s media coverage and its recent interview with the head of the Taiwan authorities’ foreign relations department, Joseph Wu. He said that WION, which provides a platform for the separatist activities of the Taiwan Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authority, ignores the long-standing position of the Indian government.

In a statement, the embassy urged WION to stick to the Indian government’s position on the Taiwan issue and not violate the one-China principle by providing a platform for those with ‘ulterior motives’.

“There is only one China in the world and the Government of the People’s Republic of China is the only legitimate government that represents all of China. Taiwan is an inalienable part of China’s territory. These facts are recognized by the UN resolution and constitute the universal consensus All countries that have diplomatic relations with China should firmly honor their commitment to the one-China policy, which is also the official position of the Indian government, “the Chinese embassy said in a statement.

“Any attempt to instigate China’s relations with other countries to expand the ‘international space’ is doomed to failure. China’s red line on the Taiwan issue cannot be questioned,” he added.

“We urge WION to take a correct and objective stance on issues relating to China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, adhere to the Indian government’s position on the Taiwan issue, and not violate the one-China principle by providing a platform for those with ulterior motives, “the statement said. In an exclusive interview with WION Executive Editor Palki Sharma, Taiwan’s Foreign Minister Joseph Wu expressed his fear that China may invade the country while the Xi Jinping regime is trying to destabilize the region. Joseph Wu told WION that he believes the United States will help Taiwan if China launches attacks, stating that his country is fully prepared to defend itself.

Wu made the remarks amid the deterioration of Taiwan’s relations with China in recent months.

The Taiwanese government recently stated that a diplomat was hospitalized after a fight with two Chinese diplomats who tried to break into the Taiwanese representative office in Fiji during National Day celebrations.
