NEW DELHI: In what appears to be a political movement in the middle of tense relations and a military stand-off in the Himalayas, China has said that it evacuate its citizens stranded due to the blockade in India, starting next week in case you face difficulties.
According to reports, China has been willing flights from Delhi, Bombay and Calcutta, Shanghai, Chongqing, Jinan, Guangzhou and Zhengzhou, as of 2 June. The embassy of China in its web site, asked citizens who wish to re-book the flights. MEA sources said that they were going to facilitate the return of the Chinese, who had with more than 60,000 foreigners until last week.
Given that China’s announcement that it will repatriate its citizens comes at a time when the ties have been submerged with India deciding of scrutiny of Chinese investments, the backrest moves for an inquiry into the origin, coronavirus and intensified fighting in the east of Ladakh, the movement triggered a new round of speculation.
Despite the Indian and Chinese troops have settled into a stalemate of sorts, the Indian forces are on high alert. The visit of the head of the Army, the Gen M M Naravane to the region showed a higher level of alert. The chinese troops have infiltrated into Indian territory in parts of Ladakh, that has resulted in standoffs in four or five places.
