Chennaiyin, Kerala Blasters play 0-0 draw

Thapa was the star of the Chennaiyin team in the first match and the coach would once again look up to him to give the initial push. CFC played an attacking game in that match and it will be seen if they continue with a similar strategy. CFC’s midfield also worked well to thwart Jamshedpur’s attacks and will again be the key to success against the Blasters.

Laszlo, however, would be aware that Kerala Blasters will be eager to open their account after missing the opportunity against NorthEast United FC despite taking the early lead. The CFC coach has said that his team will play high intensity football this season and, by the way, the two-time champions started, the ‘Men in Blue’ will seek to continue in the same vein.

He had said that he expected more from Lallianzuala Chhangte, who created many chances in front of goal, but did not convert them. The coach will be waiting for some goals from the Mizoram player. For the Blasters, Sergio Cidoncha, who scored Kerala’s opening goal against NorthEast United, and Gary Hooper would be key players.

Kerala Blasters head coach Kibu Vicuna was disappointed with the result against NorthEast United as he believed his team had lost two points in the game. He will await the first victory in what will be a long season.
