Chennai rain: 24 flights canceled | Chennai News


CHENNAI: IndiGo has canceled 24 flights – 12 arrivals and 12 departures – in Chennai due to heavy rains caused by cyclone Nivar, which is scheduled to make landfall around Puducherry on Wednesday night.
Most of them are flights using small ATR-72 aircraft.

The Airports Authority of India has urged passengers to contact the airline for more details.
SpiceJet has issued an alert saying that the cyclone It could affect flight operations from Chennai and Vijayawada and cancellations will be reported to passengers via sms / email.
GoAir has also urged passengers to view the status of flights, while Vistara has issued an advisory telling them that flights to and from Chennai may be affected and that people should arrive early at the airport.
