Raigarh: Up to seven workers at a paper mill were hospitalized after being exposed to a gas leak, reportedly cleaning a tank at the mill in the early hours of Thursday, said Raigarh Police Superintendent Santosh Singh .
Three of them are in critical condition, the SP said.
“Interrogation of the factory owner is ongoing. The incident was reported in the early hours of Thursday,” he added.
This is the second incident of a gas leak that has occurred today.
Styrene gas leaked from the LG Polymers industry in RR Venkatapuram village in Visakhapatnam early in the morning, claiming 11 lives.
The incident occurred hours before a gas leak from a chemical plant in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, killed at least 11 people, including a child.
Hundreds of people were said to have become ill from the leak in the Gopalapatnam area, where the plant is located. About 1,000 people have been evacuated from the area.
