TDP chairman and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and other TDP MLAs were suspended for one day from the state Legislative Assembly on Monday. The suspensions came after legislators held a sit-in in front of the president’s podium in protest against the arrogant behavior of the YCP government. The TDP was angry that its members did not have the opportunity to speak on the contentious issue of cyclone relief to farmers and those affected.

The suspended MLAs from the TDP are K Atchannaiudu, Payyavula Keshav, Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary, Nimmala Rama Naidu, Adireddy Bhavani, Velagapudi Ramakrishna, Dola Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy, Mantena Rama Raju, Yeluri Sambasiva Rao, Joadánges Rammohano, Saturnde Rammohano. .

In view of the serious damage caused by the cyclone, the TDP demanded that the government provide immediate compensation to help farmers grow rabi. It has also demanded cyclone relief assistance of Rs 10,000 for each poor family who lost their livelihood.

The TDP claimed that the government had promised to pay the crop insurance premium itself, but did not follow through on its promise. The government should stop betraying farmers and pay compensation immediately, he added.
