The UT Administration may allow bars in restaurants, hotels and clubs to fully open and lift the night curfew in Unlock 4.0, which will begin on September 1.

The Ministry of the Interior (MHA) today issued the guidelines for Unblocking 4.0 and gave certain relaxations outside the containment zones.

Wedding, funeral gathering size

The meeting limit for functions related to marriage and funerals or last rites, which is 50 and 20, respectively, will remain in effect until September 20, after which the 100-person limit will apply.

Under the new guidelines, social / academic / sports / entertainment / cultural / religious / political functions and other congregations with a maximum of 100 people will be allowed beginning September 21. However, these limited gatherings can be carried out with the mandatory use of face masks. social distancing and provisions for thermal scanning and hand washing or disinfectant.

The government has also decided that schools, universities, educational and training institutions will continue to be closed for students and regular class activity until September 30.

However, students in classes 9-12 may be allowed to visit their schools in areas outside of the containment zones on a voluntary basis to receive guidance from their teachers. This will be subject to the written consent of your parents / guardians.

The UT can allow up to 50 percent of teaching and non-teaching staff to be called into schools at one time for online teaching / tele-counseling and related work, the guidelines revealed.

The Department of Higher Education, in consultation with the MHA, will allow institutions of higher education only for research scholars (PhD) and graduate students from technical and professional programs that require laboratory / experimental work.

  • Advisor Manoj Parida said that the UT would follow the Central Government Orders on Unlock 4.0 guidelines in letter and spirit. However, the final decision on the relaxations to be given in the new guidelines will be made at a meeting on Monday, she added.

What will be allowed

  • Open-air theaters from September 21
  • Students in classes IX through XII can visit schools to receive guidance from their teachers.
