As the government grants FCRA registration to an Amritsar-based association to receive foreign funds to serve langar devotees of the Golden Temple, Union Interior Minister Amit Shah said Thursday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has the blessing that “Wahe Guruji has taken seva from him.”

In a series of tweets, the interior minister said, the divinity of the Darbar Sahib gives us strength. For decades, the Sangat around the world could not serve there. “

He then added: “The Modi government’s decision to allow FCRA to the Sri Harmandir Sahib deepens the Seva connection between the Sangat globally and Sri Darbar Sahib. A blessed moment! “

Shah further said: “The decision on the FCRA in Sri Harmandir Sahib is groundbreaking and will once again show the extraordinary spirit of service of our Sikh sisters and brothers.”

The Union Food Processing Minister and Akali Dal Leader Harsimrat Kaur Badal thanked the Union Minister of the Interior for granting the registration under the Foreign Contribution Regulatory Act (FCRA) to the Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Saheb Sri Darbar Association Saheb Punjab. She said this will allow the shrine to receive ‘Sewa’ from all over the world and will go a long way in spreading the Gurusahab philosophy of ‘sarbat da bhala’.

“Happy to share that MHA has granted approval under FCRA to Sri Harmandir Sahib. This will allow the shrine to receive ‘sewa’ from around the world and advance the spread of the Gurusahab philosophy of ‘sarbat da bhala’. I am grateful to @AmitShah Ji for making this possible, ”she tweeted.

Previous MHA sources said that the Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Saheb Sri Darbar Saheb Punjab Association received the registration under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act 2010. The association’s FCRA registration will be valid for a period of five years.

Langar’s services at the Golden Temple are provided by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee. The Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Saheb Sri Darbar Saheb Punjab Association, which applied for FCRA registration on May 27, has been running ‘langar’ services for the Golden Temple devotees at Amritsar in Punjab, they said.

Established in 1925, the organization has so far been receiving donations within the country. With the granting of FCRA registration by the MHA, the organization can now accept foreign contributions, which it can spend to administer ‘langar’ services and help the poor and needy.
