Rajasthan’s Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has asked the center to send more vaccines

The dispute between the Rajasthan government and the center over shipping enough COVID-19 vaccines to the state has escalated, with Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot claiming that the center provided “completely incorrect” data.
There is no vaccine shortage in Rajasthan, the center said Tuesday after the state said they will soon run out of vaccines if the center does not urgently send more supplies.
“The Health Ministry stated that Rajasthan received 37.61 lakh of vaccines and as of yesterday 24.28 lakh of vaccines had been administered. These data are completely incorrect. As of March 8, Rajasthan received 31.45,340 vaccines. Of these, 2 , 15,180 vaccines are available to the Army, “Gehlot tweeted in Hindi on Tuesday.
“29,30,160 vaccines were for frontline workers. As of March 8, 23,26,975 vaccines had been administered in the state. 1,62,888 vaccines were spoiled, which is less than the 10 percent limit allowed by the central government. on March 8, only 4,40,297 vaccines were available in the state, “the Chief Minister tweeted.
केन्द्रीय स्वास्थ्य मंत्रालय ने दावा किया है कि राजस्थान को 37.61 लाख कोविड वैक्सीन मिली एवं कल तक 24.28 लाख वैक्सीन ही लगाई गई हैं। यह डाटा पूर्णतः गलत है। 8 मार्च तक राजस्थान को 31,45,340 वैक्सीन प्राप्त हुईं। इनमें से 2,15,180 वैक्सीन सेना को उपलब्ध करवाई गईं हैं।

“More than two lakh people are being vaccinated daily in the state. In such a situation, on March 8, the vaccine was available for only two days of vaccination, so the state government demanded to send additional vaccines from the center, after of which the state received 85,000 vaccinations on March 9, “Gehlot said.
“The data released by the Rajasthan Health Ministry is completely incorrect. I will appeal to Health Minister Harsh Vardhan to instruct his officials to provide vaccines soon and not to give false information about Rajasthan,” said the senior minister.
The state government had asked the center to send more doses as it slowed the pace of the vaccination campaign and only those who need their second dose were given the injection on Tuesday.
“The position in fact is that there is no shortage of COVID-19 vaccine in the state at present. Rajasthan has received 37.61 lakh doses and has consumed only 24.28 lakh doses as of last night. The central government is monitoring regularly the availability of vaccine supply in all states and UT (Union Territories), and providing the doses according to their requirement and consumption pattern, “said the center.
