While interacting with students and teachers on Tuesday, the education minister said the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) board examinations will be conducted in 2021 on a reduced curriculum. “More than 30% of the total curriculum has been cut and some states have also announced a similar measure, while others are expected to do the same,” he said. He also ruled out conducting board exams for classes 10 and 12 until February next year in light of the COVID-19 situation. However, he said the decision on the board’s exam schedule will be made after due consultation and assessment of the situation. In facilitating the process, he said the government has introduced internal options in an effort to make JEE Main 2021 easier for students. According to him, of the 90 questions, students should answer only 75.
“We have introduced more internal options in JEE Main. Of the 90 questions in each section, students will have to answer only 75 questions. Students whose meetings have reduced the curriculum by 30 percent will have fewer options, but they will lose nothing. Therefore, students can prepare according to their own tables, ”added Pokhriyal.
The CBSE had previously announced that the board exams in 2021 will be conducted in written mode and not online. The development comes at a time when schools across the country have been closed since March n due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, some states have decided to keep them closed in light of an increase in the number of infections.
Although the Minister of Education has not yet announced the end date sheet for the CBSE board exams for classes 10 and 12, it has clarified that the exam will be conducted in pencil and paper mode only.
