According to the Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, there is no proposal to take board exams in February 2021. Along with this, the Union Ministry of Education has clarified that other procedures related to the examinations of the board will also receive additional time.
Reporting on upcoming board exams on Tuesday, Nishank said: “The board exam process will no longer start in January-February this time.” Board examinations generally begin the last week of February. Various practical exams are also held during the month of January each year.
In the 22nd edition of ‘Shiksha Samvad’, on Tuesday the Minister of Education, in a live interaction with teachers, held extensive discussions on online education, board exams, entrance tests, evaluation process, teacher training and other topics related to education.
Thousands of teachers from all over the country participated in the ‘Shiksha Samvad’ and raised many questions on various topics related to education. The Minister addressed all their apprehensions and concerns.
The CBSE board exams will not be taken online in 2021 and students will write the exams with pencil and paper as in the past. CBSE officials have clarified that there is no proposal to take the board exams online. However, the dates of the exams have not yet been decided.
Many parents have demanded that the board’s exam dates be extended by nearly three months and have submitted a proposal to the Union Ministry of Education on the matter.
On the subject of dialogue with teachers, Nishank said: “I have always liked interacting with teachers, understanding their hopes and aspirations and working accordingly. When I talk about teachers, it reminds me of my early days as a teacher.”
