In 2020, around 18 lakh of students showed up for the class 10 exams, while 12 lakh of students for the twelfth board exam.

Pre-boards: Before the exams, there will be pre-meetings and most schools keep their preview boards online due to the lack of approval from the state government or the unwillingness of parents to send their children to school amid the new strain of the COVID-19 virus. The key concerns of most schools are that students have little writing practice in a test-like situation and that there is no anti-cheat mechanism.

Bishwajit Banerjee, Principal of VidyaGyan Bulandshahr said they are eager to start the school with students physically present. However, the only option is to do it online. “For students, writing continuously for three hours is a challenge in online mode. Therefore, we can consider a shorter questionnaire and therefore a shorter examination duration. CBSE is also increasing the objectives section of the document to reduce the duration, ”he said.
