The Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE Board Examination 2021 would be conducted in written mode and not in online mode or any other measure, officials confirmed Wednesday. Speaking on schools closed and concerns about the road test, the senior official also confirmed that there may be some alternatives that could be considered in case the road test is not possible.
Speaking to PTI, a senior official confirmed that inquiries were underway regarding potential exam dates for the CBSE Board Exam 2021. There are news and rumors of a possible delay in class 10, 12 board exams. , neither confirmation nor denial was offered.
“No final decision has been made regarding the dates for conducting the board examinations, and stakeholder consultations are still ongoing. The examinations, as they are conducted, will be conducted in written and not online. Exams will be conducted following all COVID protocols, “PTI quoted a senior CBSE official.
“In case students are unable to practice in class before exams, alternatives to practical exams will have to be explored,” he added.
In an interview with Onmanorama, Academic Director of CBSE, Dr. Joseph Emmanuel shared that CBSE would perform the written exams under the COVID-19 protocols. Speaking about the practical exams, he told the news site: ‘In some schools, practical classes are held. Practical exams will be organized in these schools. However, since practical exams cannot be taken at the other institutions, other methods will be used to assess students’ practical knowledge. “
Meanwhile, the Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has announced that he will go online and discuss with students and other stakeholders concerns about the 2021 CBSE Board exam dates, as well as the JEE and JEE exams. NEET 2021.
Pokhriyal has asked students, teachers, and parents to share their concerns and suggestions by December 10, 2020 when he went online to discuss the same thing. It is speculated that it may announce important decisions by the Ministry of Education regarding the academic calendar for 2020-21 and the delay in the board examinations.
So far, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh have announced a delay in the board examinations for their respective states. Schools have started to reopen in Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra, but remain closed in many large states like Karnataka, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, etc.
Given the situation, many have even talked about the online testing mode. This was ruled out by Dr. Emmanuel. In a recent survey by CBSE, it was found that 90 percent of schools are fully connected online and classes are being held. However, he noted that 30% of students enrolled in public schools did not have access to those sessions online.
With the officials’ confirmation of a written exam, all eyes are now on the Minister of Education. Meanwhile, schools are steadily moving towards completion of the curriculum. Some schools in Delhi NCR have confirmed that the curriculum is complete, but are waiting for more clarity before conducting preliminary meetings. December 10, it seemed, would now bring greater clarity.
