As the suspense continues on the dates of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) exams for class 10, 12 and other exams amid the coronavirus pandemic, the Board has made a great statement on the mode of the exams. “The exams will be done in written mode, as usual. However, all COVID-19 protocols will be implemented without creating problems for students. The senior CBSE official also clarified about CBSE Class 10, 12 Board Practical Exams. “In some schools practical classes are given. Practical exams will be organized in these schools. However, since practical exams cannot be taken at the other institutions, other methods will be used to assess students’ practical knowledge, ”said Dr. Joseph Emmanuel. CBSE has also issued a statement saying that the board has not made any decisions regarding the dates of the class 10, 12 exams. The statement further adds that discussions with interested parties are still in progress. However, the board confirmed that the Class 10, 12 exams will be conducted in written mode with all COVID protocols in place.
“No final decision has been made regarding the dates for conducting the CBSE board reviews, and stakeholder consultations are still ongoing. The exams, as they are carried out, will be in written mode and not online, ”the statement said.
The board has also said officials are exploring alternatives to practical exams for students who did not show up for practical classes before the exams.
Previously, there were reports that had suggested that the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) could postpone the Class 10 and 12 Board examinations in 2021.
