New Delhi: Amid growing speculation about the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 10, 12 2021 exams, the Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ has stated that a campaign will be launched to seek opinions from students, parents, and teachers on how and when to take the tests next year. “The Ministry of Education will launch a campaign to seek input from students, parents and teachers on how and when to take the exams next year,” Nishank tweeted after a high-level review meeting. Meanwhile, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has published the sample papers and grading schemes for the upcoming Class X, XII exams. To boost student readiness, the CBSE has released a new question paper design and assessment scheme for the Class 10 board exam. Those preparing for the board exams can visit the official website from CBSE —cbseacademic.in, and view the sample papers and grading scheme. Previously, it was reported that the board has changed the question paper pattern for class XII board exams, focusing more on multiple-choice questions and those based on case studies. Several schools, after the publication of sample questions for classes X and XII, observed that the weighting of the MCQs has increased by 10%.
On the other hand, teachers from Delhi-NCR’s leading schools suggested that the CBSE should postpone crucial board exams until May, provided the government allows educational institutions to reopen from January 1. changes in the exam pattern. “Board exams before May are not acceptable as students need to be aware of changes in exam pattern and for that we need a minimum of ‘required’ classes for 3 months,” the Times quoted a professor.
