Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ interacted with students via webinar on Thursday and addressed their concerns regarding upcoming competitive exams and meetings such as JEE Main and NEET 2021.
The students joined the webinar and interacted with the Minister of Education, Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, on his Twitter account @DrRPNishank and on his official Facebook page, using the hashtag #EducationMinisterGoesLive.
The education minister spoke about the CBSE boards’ reduced curriculum and responded to student inquiries regarding taking the Joint Entrance Test (JEE) and the 2021 National Entry and Eligibility Test (NEET) He also spoke about the 2020 New Education Policy, which has received worldwide recognition.

‘I’m glad our nation has taken all the exams in the midst of a pandemic without missing the academic year’
I am glad that all the important exams were taken in the middle of the pandemic and that we were able to prevent the loss of the students’ academic year.
‘Will consider taking online exams’
JEE 2020 was conducted in online mode (CBT) and NEET 2020 was conducted in pen-to-paper mode. We will talk about taking the tests online, he said, responding to a student’s query.
‘NEET 2021 will not be canceled’
Responding to a query from a student, the Education Minister said NEET 2021 will not be canceled because it will be a great loss for students and the nation.
‘We will try to publish revised syllabus, JEE, NEET exam pattern if necessary’
“We will try to publish the revised schedule and exam pattern for the JEE, NEET 2021 exams soon. We are also making efforts to avoid the clash of the CBSE Practical exams with the JEE, NEET exams,” the minister said in response to a suggestion from a student.
‘Attempts will be made to keep JEE, NEET questions in line with CBSE’s shortened syllabus’
We are discussing the level of questions to be asked in the JEE, NEET exams and should be in line with the CBSE board’s reduced curriculum, the minister said.
‘The dates of the CBSE Board Exam 2021 will be announced well before the start of the exam’
The dates for the 2021 CBSE board exams will be announced well in advance of the exam start so that students have enough time to prepare for the exams, the minister said.
‘Revised CBSE program available on website’
The revised curriculum for the 2021 CBSE Board exams has been uploaded to the official CBSE website – cbse.nic.in.
‘CBSE practical exam to be held at the school level’: Minister of Education
“The CBSE practical exams are held at the school level. If we cannot carry out internships due to the ongoing pandemic, we will try to find alternatives, ”said the minister when addressing a student’s concern. If similar conditions continue, your concerns regarding the extension of the board’s exam dates will be considered, he added.

‘Amazing Student Performance on CBSE Boards 2020’: Edu Minister
“It is worth mentioning that even at the time of the pandemic, 91% of the students in the 10th class passed the CBSE 10th Board exam this year. A total of 16 lakh students out of 17 lakh 50,000 students appeared on the exam and 13 students scored 499 out of 500. A total of 10 lakh 50,000 out of 12 lakh students passed the 12th CBSE exam. It’s amazing, ”he said.
