LUCK: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has formally assumed the investigation in the Hathras gang rape Y murder case. A UP government spokesman told TOI on Saturday night that the central agency had accepted his recommendation to investigate the high-profile case.
The central government issued a notification on Saturday about it. Probing teams will soon be dispatched to the crime scene along with forensic experts immediately following an FIR search, senior officials said.
