Maharashtra Interior Minister Anil Deshmukh on Sunday urged the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to reveal whether actor Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide or was killed. He said the CBI should release the findings of its investigation in the case as soon as possible.
“It has been more than five months since the investigation began, but the IWC has not revealed whether Sushant Singh Rajput was killed or died by suicide. I ask CBI to disclose the investigation findings as soon as possible, ”Deshmukh told a news conference in Nagpur.
The actor was found dead at his Mumbai residence on June 14. Mumbai Police, who said the actor committed suicide, were conducting the initial investigation into the case. In August, the Supreme Court ordered the IWC to investigate the case.
Deshmukh said people were asking him what the outcome of the CBI investigation has been so far. “People in Maharashtra and the country are eagerly awaiting the CBI report … People are asking me about the status of the case,” Deshmukh said.
Previously, the Mumbai police had filed an accidental death report and were investigating the matter.
