CBI raids 15 locations related to Karnataka Congress leader DK Shivakumar, brother

The Central Bureau of Investigation on Monday raided several locations, including residences and commercial establishments, related to the leader of the Karnataka Congress, DK Shivakumar, and his brother DK Suresh, in an alleged corruption case, authorities said.

Authorities said at least 60 officials from the central agency are raiding 15 locations.

The CBI raids began at 6 a.m. at his residence located in the town of Doddallahalli in the Kanankapura constituency, which is represented by Shivakumar in the state assembly. DK Suresh is the MP for Bengaluru Rural.

One of the residences being raided is that of Iqbal Hussain, a close associate of Shivakumar.

The CBI raids were condemned by Congress leader Siddaramaiah. “@ BJP4India has always tried to indulge in vindictive politics and mislead the public’s attention. The latest CBI raid on @KPCCPresident @DKShivakumar’s home is yet another attempt to derail our preparation for the by-elections. I strongly condemn it, ”Siddaramaiah tweeted.
