Fifteen CBI officials are expected to be in Hathras over the next two weeks, a senior police officer said.
The CBI would also be investigating the forced cremation, if so by local police, the allegation of negligence in not writing a rape case on Sept. 14, the family alleges.

A CBI spokesperson said the case had been assigned to its Ghaziabad unit with a special team to investigate the crime. The complainant in the case was the brother of the victim. The 19-year-old girl died at the Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi on September 29. He had suffered multiple fractures and paralysis in a brutal attack on 14 September in his village of Hathras.

The notification issued by the Center at the request of the UP government requested the IWC to investigate violations, murders and atrocities and “any attempt, complicity and / or conspiracy, in relation or in connection with such crimes and / or for any other crime committed in the course of the same transaction or derived from the same events ”.
The author had stated in the FIR that Sandeep had tried to strangle his sister while working in the fields. But she raised the alarm and her mother arrived at the scene. After that, Sandeep fled the scene. Based on the incident, a case of attempted murder and the ST / SC Act were recorded. However, the victim later claimed to have been raped. Subsequently, the Police added the rape section against the same accused on September 19 on the victim’s statement at the JN Medical hospital. The next day, the police arrested the main defendant.
Subsequently, on September 22, the victim claimed that she was gang-raped by three other youths from the same town and the police added the criminal section for gang-rape and by September 26, all the accused were arrested.
