Caught at the Singhu border by farmers, the youth say they were part of a plot to incite violence and kill union leaders

Farmers protesting at the Singhu border in Delhi on Friday claimed to have caught a young man allegedly trained to incite violence during the farmers’ agitation and the upcoming tractor parade on Republic Day. The anonymous young man, who was presented by farmers to the media with his face covered, claimed that there was an alleged plot to shoot four peasant leaders. He was later handed over to the police.

According to the young man, he was captured by farmers when he, along with a girl, made false accusations of taunting at the protest site on the Singhu border in Delhi.

Speaking to the press, the young man claimed that there were ten members, including two girls, who were assigned the task of inciting violence during the unrest. The young man also alleged that a person wearing “police clothing” trained them. However, sources said the young man did not identify any police officers at the police station in question.

According to the young man, the team of 10 was assigned the task of opening fire during the agitation, so that the policemen have a false impression that the shooting was being done by the peasants.

The young man said he had played a role during the violence that took place during the Jat upheaval in 2016. In addition, he claimed that he was involved in “lathicharge” during a recent demonstration in Karnal district.
After intercepting the youths, peasant leaders alleged that conspiracies were being hatched to end their ongoing agitation.

Speaking to the media, a peasant leader said: “They were going to supply this group with weapons. On January 26, they had to open fire on the police to make the police believe that the peasants were shooting at the police. They also had a plan to lower the national flag to hurt national sentiments (during the tractor parade) and incite the people. “

He added: “The young man has identified photos of four farmer leaders who were going to be targeted in some way. This operation had to be carried out at any time after January 23 ”, he added.
