Chandigarh: A tractor cart carrying cow dung was unloaded in front of the home of a Punjab BJP leader in Hoshiarpur on Friday, allegedly by a group of some farmers in a protest against the Center’s new agricultural laws.

The group unloaded the cart loaded with cow dung in front of the residence of former Punjab minister Tikshan Sud and also launched slogans against the Center, prompting a strong reaction from Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, who warned protesters by new agricultural laws that did not enforce the law in their hands

Singh said that the invasion of privacy will bring a bad name to the peaceful agitation of farmers and thwart their goal. He also said that the traumatization of the families of political leaders or workers by these acts can create a public order problem in Punjab.

“After months of showing exemplary restraint and not indulging in acts of violence or lawlessness in Punjab, as well as on the borders of the national capital, some protesters are losing restraint even though peasant leaders categorically asked them to keep protests peaceful, “said the CM. in a sentence.

He also urged protesters to exercise restraint and stand in solidarity with farmers in the same spirit of self-discipline that farmers’ organizations have shown so far.

“Such attempts to break into the homes of any political official, or to picket their homes, had the dangerous potential to vitiate the atmosphere of peace and destroy harmony among people of various castes, religions, communities, etc. Punjabi spirit of harmony and unity ”, he added.

Sud, together with some BJP workers, later held a sit-in seeking action against those responsible for dumping manure at their home.

Meanwhile, the head of the Punjab BJP, Ashwani Kumar Sharma, condemned the incident and some mischievous people dressed as farmers “attacked” Sud’s residence, only to disturb the peace and brotherhood in the state.
