Several areas of Hyderabad, which is among the 14 affected districts in Telangana, have received 20cm of rain in the past 24 hours. Twelve people have died in Telangana in the last 48 hours due to the incessant rains that have caused flooding on the roads and flooding in some low-lying areas.
The meteorological department, in its latest forecast, valid from 8.30 a.m. M. From October 14 until 8.30 a.m. M. From October 15, has forecast heavy to very heavy rains in isolated locations over Telangana.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has recommended people to stay indoors.
“We are witnessing unprecedented rains in the city. Maximum rainfall of 25 cm was recorded in LB Nagar! The rains are expected to continue for a few more hours. Citizens are requested to stay indoors and stay safe. DRF teams are striving to normalize the situation, “tweeted GHMC’s Director of Compliance, Surveillance and Disaster Management.
The rains were triggered by a deep depression over the west-central Bay of Bengal that led to heavy rains in several districts of Telangana, according to the meteorological department.
