After ditching the call logs posted by his Haryana counterpart, Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh said on Sunday that if ML Khattar really wanted to connect with him, he could have used official channels or called by mobile phone.
Why shouldn’t I talk to him?
If I can speak to the central leaders, including the Prime Minister, on the issue of the farmers’ protest, why would I try to avoid speaking to Khattar? – Captain Amarinder Singh, Chief Minister
“If someone from your office called my residence, why were the calls made to an assistant? Why weren’t the official channels used to contact me? “asked the Chief Minister of Punjab.
“Senior officials of the DGP Chief Secretary have been in contact with each other on the farmers issue for the past few days, but none conveyed Khattar’s wish to speak to me at some point,” the CM said.
“How many times in the past has Khattar used the assistant channel to contact me?” he asked Haryana CM. Captain Amarinder further said: “I have an assistant to receive calls at my residence from 9 am to 5 pm. Khattar could have just picked up the phone and called me on my cell phone. “
Captain Amarinder lashed out at Haryana’s CM, saying that he was determined to suppress the farmers and that he had no serious intention of discussing their protests with him. The Chief Minister also lashed out at Khattar for his comments that “Amarinder would be liable if Covid spreads now due to farmers’ protest.”
“If he (Khattar) was so concerned about the farmers spreading Covid in Haryana, whose record in the pandemic remains extremely poor, he should not have stopped them within the state, but should have allowed them to move quickly to Delhi,” he said. the Punjab CM.
On Khattar’s comment that farmers should not block Haryana’s borders, Captain Amarinder noted that it was the Khattar government and police that had been blocking the borders for the past three days by preventing farmers from proceeding to the strength.
Captain Amarinder claimed that Khattar’s lies on the issue had been exposed by Haryana’s own farmers, as they had not only rejected their CM’s claims that no farmers from their state had joined the march, but had shown their identification cards, duly issued by the Haryana government.
